Response to JBMoore's post Divine and Manifest.
The word fire is not the thing it points to, yet everyone knows what fire is because they have experienced it.
Have they?
Have people even really experienced the Manifest, or is it all sent through a filter of needing to name and describe everything?

Well, "REALLY experiencing" is quite a different matter. When I was in high school, I realized that I often experienced many things--like nature, art, and movies--in quite a different way than my parents or peers did.
I keep thinking back to an old Mary Tyler Moore show episode in which the news gang experiences heightened awareness for a few days, or the end of "Our Town" when Emily asks if anyone realizes life while they live it, and a ghost answers "No. Saints and poets, maybe. They do some."
